no song. We're just going to go right
into it. Justin's got some limited time,
so he cannot do the full hour. Um, so in
our Discord, we took a bunch of
questions. We have them in no particular
order, and we're just going to kind of
rapid fire and answer what you can.
Okay. Uh, that sounds great. All right.
So, first question is just in general,
how's the experience been so far?
Because you had Netflix, now this
treasure hunt. You said you're getting a
thousand emails a day through the
website. Uh, how's the experience been?
It uh, sorry, my monitor is Mine did
that, too. What's going on? There we go.
Okay, that's a little bit better. Lots
of monitors. Okay, there we go. Uh, no.
Yes, the response has been quite
overwhelming. Uh, far beyond what I ever
anticipated. So, it's been it's been a
bit of a challenge to just kind of keep
up with everything. Um, you know, I know
a lot of people are reaching out. They
have a lot of questions. Uh, I think
most of the what I wanted to say I think
is on the website. I'll do my best to
keep that updated in the coming days.
Uh, but beyond that, I'm just I'm
excited that everybody's excited because
that's really what it's all about.
That's awesome. Okay, so the first
question of course will come from me
because this hits home for me. We know
that you're a pretty smart guy. You
talked about X-ray vision. I didn't even
understand that. Um, and so do you need
to be techy? Do you need to have kind of
that I don't know programmers knowledge
like in the span of you know redneck up
to super PhDs could everyone solve this
or is there going to be some something
more to it that you may need to learn?
Yeah, that's a great question. You know,
I've I've done my best to design this in
a way that is accessible by anybody. You
don't need any advanced degrees. I think
any reasonable person that spends a
little bit of time, maybe a little time
researching online and, you know,
watching the series, reading the book to
kind of get a baseline understanding of,
I guess, me. Um, you know, I think it's
on equal footing. It was really
important to me that that no one had a
leg up over anybody else. And so, you
know, very specifically, I I avoided any
sort of advanced information as long as
as humanly possible. I waited as long as
possible to register the ISBN for the
book to make sure that people didn't
didn't know that was coming ahead of
time since it had a description in it
about, you know, the the treasure. And I
also um you know, the the poem didn't
even go into the book until the moment
it went to the printer for printing. So,
no one saw the the poem ahead of time or
anything. So, I think everybody's on
equal footing here uh to the best of my
abilities. And I don't think that um I
don't think anybody has a leg up over
anybody else and I think that anybody
can solve this. Okay, follow-up
question. You kind of answered it, but
some people are saying they're finding
things in the code of your website,
treasure.quest. Is that necessary?
Should people be looking into the
background of the code or anything like
that? No, that sounds like fun, but uh I
can put that to rest right now. There's
there's no hidden codes in the website
itself. um you know not nothing that
would require like a you know an
engineering degree or computer science
degree or anything like that. Awesome.
Okay. So in the forest Fen poem um there
were nine clues. Are you can you say is
there a certain number of clues in your
poem? Well that's a good question.
Um, I
think I think yes. Um, and I'm trying to
recall how many there
are. Uh, you know, I'll update the
website with that. Um, but I don't want
to say something that is slightly off
because there's a few in there where
it's like, uh, would you consider that
one clue or two? And um I know people
will split hairs on this later, so I
want to be really cautious about how I
answer that. So yes, I can answer that,
just not right now. Okay, that's
awesome. Um so would you say the poem is
a stepby-step map, pointtooint kind of
like Forest Fends was? Oh, do you mean
like consecutive order or Exactly. Or
are the clues contig contiguous or are
they consecutive? Do you go in order,
point to point? Yeah, that's Yeah. And
you know, I'll preface this by saying,
you know, it's important to me that
everybody has kind of equal access to
the information. So, I'll I'll certainly
update the website with this information
later. Um, but yeah, I think it's fair
to say the clues are in consecutive
order. Wow. Awesome. Good. Logical. So,
we're scouring the book just like we did
for TTOC. Can you give us a ballpark
number of are there 550, 500? Like, how
many hints are we looking for in this
book? because we can see every page, 10
each page, but can you give us a
ballpark of what we're looking at?
Oh boy, that's another good question.
Um, I would say several. There are
several. It's not like there's just one
specific page in the book. Uh, there
there are several sprinkled throughout.
Okay. And you know, we're treasure
hunters, so we're going to ask these
people, so just answer what you can. So,
you said there will be a 30-day clock
that starts when somebody finds it,
which sounds like you know when somebody
finds it in order to start that 30-day
clock. Are you the only one that knows
when somebody's fi when somebody does
find it? Or does a steward also will the
steward also know when somebody finds
it? Um, you know, it's not something I
can actually expand on. I don't want to
give too much away there. Um, but I
think it's fair to say that there there
is a countdown and, you know, people do
need to come forward within that 30-day
window in order to collect the uh the
Bitcoin proceeds. Okay. So, a couple of
the safety questions that we got. Um,
can you say whether the chest is buried
or you have to cross water?
Yep. Good questions.
Um, I'm I'm I'm not going to say whether
or not it's buried, but what I will say
is if if you know where to go, it
wouldn't matter either way. Um,
yeah, I think that's fair to say. And
also, we'll analyze the heck out of that
one.
Uh, yeah. And then in terms of the water
crossings, no, I mean, nothing nothing
dangerous required. Okay. Okay.
Um, can someone find it without using
the map that's in the book or on the
website or would you recommend using
that map?
Uh, I think the map is useful. Um, I
think I'll leave it at that. Okay. Okay.
Um, so we know you're not going to or
you haven't said what the value of your
treasure is, but can you tell us how
many gold coins are in there? Oh my
goodness. Yeah. I' I'd actually have to
check the inventory to be certain on the
number there, but there are many. And
there are all I think almost exclusively
all of them are at least 1 ounce or
larger. Um, you know, the exception
being something like, you know, the coin
from the Lydian Empire. Uh, they didn't
make 1 oz gold coins back then. So,
that's uh that's quite a bit smaller.
Um, and you know, the 1652 Oak Tree
shilling is um, you know, it's I think
it's comparable in size to the 1oz gold
coins, but of course it's it's not made
of gold. But almost
exclusively, you know, everything in the
treasure is is gold. Um, you know, there
of course there are some gems and so on
and some other goodies I I I stuffed in
there as well. Uh, but I I pretty much I
filled this thing to the gills and it is
just I couldn't fit anything else in it.
It is just overflowing. Nice. Wow.
That's great. I'm gonna take a take one
real quick. I don't think we should do
super chat tonight. That's what I was
going to say. Um, and we thank you for
all 400 of you joining us right now. We
know this was kind of last minute to say
exciting. So, there'll be a lot of
people replaying and questions that come

Will the solution take you to an exact
spot or more of a general area?
Um, if if you've solved the poem in its
entirety, you will end up at a at an
exact location. Oh, I love that. Thank
you. Yeah, we're all we're all cheering.
Okay. Um, can you say um how far you
have to go? Some of us have to get in
shape and things like the forest hunt. I
went one mile and Forest said not more
than a mile. Can you say how far from
your car you're going to be hiking? A
mile, five, just kind of outer perimeter
so someone can make sure to prepare
appropriately for safety. Yeah, I know
there's been actually several questions
about this. First off, I I realize
there's a lot of people have been
reaching out and messaging me. Uh I'
I've received thousands and thousands of
messages, so I'm not ignoring you. It's
just it's not actually physically
possible for me to get through all of
them. Um, you know, I have limited time
during the evenings and weekends to uh
to dedicate to that sort of thing. So,
I'm not I'm not ignoring anybody. Please
know that. But I did see a few
questions. There were some folks that
have uh you know, disabilities or um are
otherwise not in a position to hike
great distances. Rest assured, you don't
need to hike any great distance. Um, in
fact, I go so far as to say that um
um you don't you don't need to you don't
need to hike more than a mile to figure
out where the treasure's at. Oh, more
than a mile. Awesome. Another great
answer. Thank you. Okay, we know that
from the steward we get half of the
Bitcoin password. Uh does the steward
have other treasure items for the
eventual finder? There there are some
additional items that the steward has.
Yes. Nice. All right. Wow. Okay. And it
kind of answers it with it, but I want
to get a little bit more specific.
Advanced ciphers that you and Mike might
find enjoyable. Some of us um don't. Are
advanced ciphers needed or did you kind
of answer that with the question of this
is for everybody or are those fair game?
Yeah.
Um I think it's I I think I'd answer
that by saying there there's one hint
that I just couldn't help myself. uh
that I think maybe arguably could
require a slight bit
of of technical knowledge possibly
uh but just one and it's you know I
wouldn't call it necessarily a critical
hint or anything like that but it was
just something I wanted to have a little
fun with so there there is something
there uh but it's just one okay okay say
a cipher maybe not an advanced cipher
yeah that that's probably probably more
accurate
So, here's a big one. People want to
know if there are any red herrings.
Maybe did you intentionally put a red
herring either in the poem or the book?
Yeah, it's funny. I mean, you think
about the act of creating a poem. Uh I
mean, it is, you know, for a treasure
hunt, that is a way to to obuscate. So,
at its core, like there is some
obfuscation, of course. Uh but you know
I I spent 10 years looking for forest
treasure and I I can imagine the
frustration that would would mount for
anybody who was really invested in
something and it it turned out to be a a
a red herring that was on purpose. So
rest assured I haven't created any red
herrings just to mess with people or
anything like that. Um you know I mean I
think that's all probably left up to
interpretation. Somebody might look at
it and say, "Well, you you did that on
purpose." But, uh, from my perspective,
no. I I haven't created any intentional
red herrings. Another great answer.
Okay. Can we assess this location 247?
Um, or do we or maybe the location might
have hours or things um that we would
need to worry about not being accessible
247?
Uh, as of March 31st at 8:10 p.m.
Central time, 2025, uh, no, there there
shouldn't be any restrictions in that
regard. Okay. Um, do you have to pay to
get into the location?
No. Okay.
Um, this was a huge one for Forest Ven.
Will you give the complete solve after
it's found, including the Netflix hits?
Yeah, it's a good question.
Um, I don't see why I wouldn't. I can
imagine. I mean, you know, just being in
the position that I was in and many of
us uh throughout the forest ven hunt, it
was pretty maddening at the end to to
really want to understand what the what
the solution was. And, you know, I know
there's not going to be any pleasing
everybody. No matter what the solution
is, there will be people out there that
say it's horrible. It's the worst poem
in the world. That's fine. Uh, but what
I do think is important is that people
have some degree of closure. So, yes, I
do plan to do that that and that's why
Beyond the Map's Edge is a great hunt
because you've been on the other side.
You've been a uh a hunter, right? You've
been in that position. Uh I have. Yeah.
Yeah. So, so here's a big one. The the
LLC transfer from Texas to Wyoming and
the jurisdiction of Wyoming. Why did you
have to move it to Wyoming? And of
course, there's some people that think
that means the treasures in Wyoming. I
don't know if you can speak to that or
not. Yeah, there might be some confusion
there. So there was no LLC transfer to
Wyoming. Uh as part of this endeavor, an
LLC was formed. And from day one, it was
in the state of Wyoming. Um and you
know, there's a number of reasons why it
was it was set up that way, but uh there
was no transfer from Texas. Okay. Wow.
Can it be found in wintertime or do we
need to worry? Maybe we're we're at a
hard stop right now on another big hunt
that's going on because of snow. Um, can
we Is it a year round accessible boots
on the ground? Uh, you know, I I don't
want anybody doing anything dangerous.
So, if there's if there's snowy
conditions, you know, you're you're not
going to you're not going to have much
luck. So, I would completely avoid
searching in the snow or any bitter cold
conditions like that. Uh, what's most
important is keeping it safe. The last
thing I think we want is any sort of
injuries or or even worse than that. Um,
certainly don't want to spoil the fun
for everybody, you know. I mean, I I
think that it's important that people
play it safe on this one. Okay. Is the
is the property that you abandon just
out there in some remote location or is
it kind of hidden like a geocache?
Oh, well, I mean, the container that
it's hidden in, whoever finds it, you
you will immediately recognize it. And
anybody who has watched the series or
read my book, uh, they'll know right
away. And no, it's not some replica of
the Fen chest or anything like that. Um,
you don't need any knowledge of the Fen
treasure hunt to be successful here.
Everybody's starting on the same foot.
And um, yes, it is it is extremely
recognizable. So, it sounds like it's
not
hidden. Is that what you said or maybe
not? Maybe. Okay. All right.
Okay. Can you tell us ballpark how many?
Like so you put hints in Netflix and
then some of them because you didn't
know what would hit the cutting room
floor. How many are we looking at and
did any of them not make it in that you
thought really would have been helpful?
You know, kind of what what did that
process look like? Because it sounds
fascinating. You know, that was a pretty
unique challenge. Uh I had zero creative
control over this process. uh you know,
just like everybody else, I was a
participant in the in the documentary
series. And uh you know, that's hard
because I didn't know what scenes were
going to be edited out. I didn't know
what was going to be in focus. I didn't
know what the frame size was going to
be. Uh there was a lot of things I
didn't know. Also, I didn't know what
order the scenes were going to play in.
And so, I think that creates a a unique
challenge. So, yeah, I think it's fair
to say that not everything that I wanted
to be in there landed in there just
because I didn't have any
say. But I I think it's there are some
really good hints in there. Um, and I I
you know, I kind of struggle looking
back on it like what is a better
reference like if I had to choose
between say the book and the and the
series. Um, and I think overall I would
say that the the book is a better
resource for people. Uh, but there are
there are some good things in the
series. All right, if you guys stick
around after Justin leaves, we're going
to we've come up with a few. Discord's
come up with a few. We're going to share
maybe three or four hints that we think
are hints. Justin can confirm like we
think they're hints and they're pretty
clever. Okay, here's a big one. I think
um so there are some people that are now
researching your family and that's
because your grandfather's amazing life
is in the book. You talk about your
father, your brothers. Are you okay with
that? And is that necessary to do any
research on them outside of the book?
Well, you know, when I when I wrote the
book, I do talk about my family,
especially folks that have have departed
since well, even before the book was
written. And and so I think that that is
that is fair game. Uh it's not like you
need to
go, you know, finding people that are uh
friends or family in my life and
dragging them down or anything like
that. not anything like that. Um, but
you know, I think anything that's that's
mentioned in the book is fair game.
Okay. Um, now you had a very special
bond with your brother. Um, if he was
still here, would you have done this
hunt with or created this hunt with him
or is this because of the journey that
you had with him? Yeah, I I think a
large part of this was um I think you
call it a tribute. Uh, so I don't know
if I would have done it if he was here
or not. I mean, I think that would kind
of depend on how I mean, if everything
ended the same way of the the Fen
treasure hunt, then I might have. Um, it
it certainly crossed my mind many times.
Uh, but uh the situation with my brother
was certainly enough to to push me past
that line and and be resolute in saying
that I'm doing this. Nice. Nice. Okay.
So, I'm going to expound on this one a
little bit, KPro, and I don't know if
that's later. Um, the problem with
Forest Fen's poem is we would never know
if we had the right where warm water's
halt until we had the treasure chest.
That's what Forest said. In your poem,
is there any kind of clue verification
built in? Will we know we have the right
first clue or the second clue or you
don't know if you're in the right spot
until you find the chest?
There
is I think for a lack of a better term
there is a checkpoint
um that will give you zero doubt that
you are trending in the right direction.
Ah well then we got to hit that for I
yeah that was you're you're being
phenomenal about your answers. Now is it
a checkpoint for us or is it a
checkpoint also for you or you will know
if somebody is that far along? It's a
good question. Yeah. All right. That
might be the answer, he says with a
smile.
Um, can you rule out any structures?
We've learned so much from forest hunt.
People destroy things unfortunately. Can
you rule out it's not in a structure so
people aren't going into place? Yeah,
absolutely. And that's something I
should have done before. I apologize. I
I need to update the website with this
all of this stuff. But okay. uh at the
treasure is not associated with any
man-made structure and there is uh it's
not you know hidden at a structure or
anything. You don't need to touch a
structure. Great. That's great. That's
great. I'm going to skip the next one,
KPro, because I think you answered that.
Uh how much is solvable from home with
research before you go boots on the
ground? Yeah.
Um a fair amount. Okay, good. Okay.
Okay. Um, does the book contain actual
clues or hints to the clues in the poem?
Likewise, does the Netflix series
contain actual clues or hints to the
clues?
So, well, um, you know, so, first off, I
I think Forest had a distinction between
a clue and a hint. There was there was
some sort of I don't, you know, and just
so people are aware, a clue is a hint.
Hint is a clue. It's all kind of the
same to me. Um, so I I think it's fair
to say that there
are there are
some hints in the series that
will guide you in the book. How's that?
Okay. Okay. That's exactly. Yep. And I
think he kind of answered the next one.
He did. He did. Um, and the next one as
well. We're almost to the end here.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Can you talk about an item
that was maybe special to you or that
maybe you regret putting in the chest?
Yeah, there was um there's a small
collection
of of something in there that I I placed
deliberately um but means a great deal
to me. Uh and I think it's more
sentimental than than any sort of value
beyond that. Um, I don't regret putting
it in there. Uh, but it really was a a a
core piece of me. Would you want it back
from the eventual finder?
Uh, I don't I don't think it's fair to
put, you know, requests on the the
finder.
Um, uh, to, you know, I mean, that's
totally up to them. Yeah. Okay. And I'm
going to jump around a little just
because of the previous stuff. Mike, um,
you said 60 pounds. Does that include
the weight of the container or is that
the contents of the of what the treasure
is? Yeah, I mean before I hit it, I I
actually literally put the whole thing
on the scale and just tried to get a a
ballpark number if I were to call
collect correctly. It's actually a bit
north of 60 pounds. Um don't quote me on
that though. Uh um No, but I I think uh
it it does Yeah, I mean it certainly
includes the container. Yeah. Okay. So,
you weighed the whole thing. Okay. I
did. Um, the person that finds a
location, the location that whispers of
personal lore and secrets, is it true
that the person that finds the treasure
will have come to know what those lore
and secrets are?
I think so. Okay. Okay. That's a piece
of it.
Now, if you It seems to me in the
Netflix um series, it some may be
interpreting some of the edited
information that came out in episode 3
that you did not actually purchase
Forest Fen's chest. You did not auction
it. You had to go to plan B. Some
conspiracy theorist says, "This confirms
there's the actual chest is still out
there." I think it's a pretty easy I I
think um explanations, but I think
important that people hear uh from you.
Did you purchase the test? Did you
actually auction it? A and what maybe it
was just editing or any explanation you
can give. Yeah, I realize that might be
a little confusing to people that were,
you know, aware of the entire sequence
of events. So, you know, I think the
documentary was accurate in the sense
that it said that there was an initial
round of negotiations that ended up
falling through, but there was kind of a
continuation of that negotiation that
that picked up, my goodness, many months
later uh that culminated in a purchase.
And I think uh at that time, the thought
was we'd like to give a lot of these
pieces back to the people that that
searched for it for so many years. I
know myself searching for it for that
long, uh, having a piece was was really
important to me and I think that, uh,
some others felt the same way. Uh,
unfortunately, we couldn't just give it
away. Uh, but I think the auction was
was the best course of action. Yeah, it
was great. Well, for I mean, we had a
whole party in here, so we're on the
last couple questions. We know we're a
couple minutes over where you guys where
you could be. So, just couple more and
then we'll wrap up. What's your favorite
constellation? Somebody asked.
you have one or I can answer that. Yeah.
Um so you did just from a from an equity
standpoint. Um Matt um Smell the
Sunshine was your editor. Um you had an
illustrator. Um the Netflix producers
etc. all may have a small piece of
information a little bit in advance. Is
anyone precluded um from searching or
you have an agreement with them? you
know, probably not best if you search
because there might be the perception of
inequity or is it kind of everybody
you've planned for it so everybody it's
fair game. I I did plan meticulously to
ensure that not any single person had
any significant leg up over anybody
else. So I you know some folks might not
might not like this answer but from my
perspective it's a free-for-all. Anybody
can go and do it. Um, now I think there
are a few folks that are involved that
just for their own personal reasons
would don't want to because uh they
understand the optics of that, but I
don't think it's fair for me to go to
them and say now you're excluded because
uh they they don't have any special
information.
Okay. All right. Um well, thank you

there anything you want to tell us?
Anything you want to say? Is there a
question that we should have asked that
you're surprised that we didn't ask? No,
I I I think I knew that you guys would
be asking the the pointed questions uh
given your background and and and heavy
involvement with with Fen's Treasure
Hunt over the years. So, I appreciate
the time. I'd love to stay longer. The
issue now is just the uh the supply
chain issues with the book. I'm sure
people have realized a little
challenging to get a hold of it right
now. Yeah. Uh so, I'm working with some
of the suppliers this evening trying to
get things up and running again so that
there's there's better access. But uh I
do want to be clear with people. Uh you
know the website will be updated with
this information and um you know I I
think that was one of the frustrations
when I was a fan treasure hunter is that
there was just all these different
avenues of information and it was hard
to kind of keep track of everything. So
I do think it's important for it to be
somewhat s centralized. So at a minimum
I'll be linking to things that that I
think are of of importance or um um you
know other people may find important. So
yeah, and I will email you all these
questions and whichever ones you want to
put up with, you know, to make it fair
for everybody, that's you do what you
want with them, I guess. I appreciate

that the treasure is hidden in. He did
not want to show the container, so he
just used that saddle bag briefcase to
do it for Netflix. Okay. Right now, why
do you think 30 days?
Um, I don't know. Well, well, what what
say? Put it under your bed for 30 days
and think about it. But if the steward
has other treasure items and he
confirmed that he does, how do you not
say, "Hey, because you can be anonymous.
You can be anonymous." Yeah. Here's my
thought. Um, 30 days is long enough.
Like, if we found it tomorrow and we
wanted to check with an attorney
or check with a friend or whatever, that
gives us a couple of weeks to work
through that. And at the absolute most,
after 30 days, he's probably saying,
"You're never going to contact me." So,
I'm willing at 30 days to cut it.
Because I'm assuming he's not going to
give the solution till after that window
is up. So, he didn't want to. Two weeks
would be too short. Two months would be
too long. One month, 30 days. Boom.

say how much the meteorite weighs? I
don't think he does. Oh, but it's the

Basically, it's like a little mystery
that you then jump on the internet and
you could find pretty quickly. I'm gonna
say um just to be honest, and this is
not a slight towards Justin, this is a
slight towards Jared and his team.
Um documentaries typically are factually
based. There are so many factual errors.
I do not um I do not think when they say
everybody loved Netflix, um there were
parts and times that I think everyone
was frustrated. That's either in it or a
part of the hunt. like representing that
Justin didn't actually buy the chest.
How could you factually get it more
wrong? The Rudy part that suck. There
was a lot of factual inaccuracies. If
they would have called themselves a docu
drama, but um I think one searcher that
I think one searcher put it perfectly.
It's kind of a professional
embarrassment rather than a knock on any
of the participants because it was how
it was edited and things and just it's
factually incorrect. And a documentary
being factually incorrect. It's kind of
like if you had a murder mystery but
nobody was murdered. It it wasn't in
that regard. I would say it's less
than ideal. Okay. So David because we do

WTF is there's treasure inside. Are
there two treasure hunts for millions?
Yes, there are. And we've done a bunch
of shows on there's treasure inside. And
treasure inside also has a forest fen
box that has the olive jar and some
other forest fan items. So, there are
two different treasure hunts going on.

Both inspired by forest, but different.
So, there's treasure inside is a totally
different thing. And uh we'll pro we'll

the fingerprint?" And so she read the
thing that said the digital fingerprint.
She's like, "Well, that's what it means.
I'm going to put that on the the digit."
Be a teenager again, folks. She's so
cute. I love that. Not your fingerprint.
Yeah, Netflix documentaries are not true
documentaries. That is a good point. I
didn't realize that. I thought
documentaries meant documentaries.
They're Okay, so they're kind of crappy
documentaries. Got In my opinion, I gave
the Netflix documentary a B+. I think
it's a good story. It's just not
factually accurate in all aspects.
That's all. I thought they implied he
bought the chest. He did, but he used
this LLC to do it, Dan. And then they
auctioned off most of the items. No, but
I don't think they implied that. They
implied the opposite. In episode three,
Justin said, "I was planning on buying
the treasure chest and all the items and
rehide it, but now I'm going to plan B,
and they never shored that up at the
end." So, I know a lot of conspiracy
theorists said, "See, you guys bought
fake stuff at auction, etc." No, it was
just really poor documentary making.

that wife. My wife got me both books and
now my life is treasure hunting. So, he
got Beyond the Maps Edge and TTI. That's
pretty awesome. There's so few. And some
people have asked me, are you now no
longer working on TTI? I can't. I have a

his hunt until snow is melted. So I will
