Rear glass: three mountain-like humps in the same dust language. That is her foot of three — a granite profile you can see, then return her face. Dead limbs off a broken trunk make the same silhouette. Not three named peaks. Not an X on a boulder.

Topo wrap and the Beast itself are Fenn costume — you don't need a high-clearance vehicle. Tailgate packs Waterton (Canada candy) next to Fenn's book. Those are not the two hints.

We turned the plates he printed. Cabin 180: the hang on the white door goes ears-up. Cover 180: the woman in the tear goes upside down — do not flip the book; returning her there is seeing her in the landscape. ARKADE and the meadow still: still a back. A file with no face cannot be rotated into one. That turn is on the ground, short, local.

Base: Grandpa Wayne Fitzwater was the Beaverhead game warden, Dillon. Childhood summers. Not a published search base.

Walk: He has not published a walk. Maverick Mountain at Polaris is “my why” — childhood, not a hide claim. Official: American West, public 24/7 no fee.

Hole: The poem says past the Hole. He has not named which Hole. Truck 42 is poem-word Hole and Dad’s True West Whole No. 42 — the magazine, not a GPS.

Bought: Book: Gracie’s Antiques, Dillon, MT — $6 late-nineteenth-century hand-drawn map. Apache territories, Dragoon Mountains in trembling lines, creases from folding. He still unfolds it. He never printed the sheet.

Where: The book names Dragoon Mountains on the $6 sheet. It does not identify which manuscript, which labels, or a pin.

The Steck sheet, as scanned, has inverted Dragoon labels. That is a different object until he says otherwise. Gracie’s “lift and turn” is spoken as he wrestles the shop door — not confirmed as a rotation of this analog.

Not the hide: Cochise Stronghold is a fee campground with mines in the range — official hide kills, whether or not his map names the Dragoons.

Keep the shop purchase. Drop the analog as his map. Do not treat Arizona / Stronghold as the chest.

Where: East end of Horse Prairie, ~2 miles west of Clark Canyon Reservoir’s west shore, above Horse Prairie Creek. View from MT-324. Armstead / Camp Fortunate are under the lake.

It guards the gateway to Horse Prairie, named Shoshone Cove by Captain Lewis. Classic face and beckoning arm. Lewis camped in 1805 at the junction of the streams just beneath the head.

A named guardian face on a postcard he cares about. Teach the kind of seeing. Do not treat the hill as the hide unless the consecutive poem puts you there — he has not said that it does.
